July 2025 Announcements
Parish Planning
The data from the Parish Planning Workshop held on 7th June has been shared by email with the 48 participants and can also be found on this link: Interim Report.
The next steps are to begin implementing the recommendations. We are aware that not all recommendations can be implemented immediately. However, the PPC is committed to continuing the dialogue with parishioners and beginning the implementation process.
We will continue in the synodal way and are inviting members of each planning theme group to come together again and set priorities from the recommendations, discern the expected outcomes and formulate strategies for implementation.
Our objective is to engage more and more parishioners in this transformation process and strengthen our faith as we walk together.
Young Adults Group
Our new leader of the Group, Darcy Bouwman, is working hard to recruit new members to the group He is working with the Group to implement activities which bring young adults together for social and faith-based activities. The Group is collaborating with the Jesus Youth Group and learning from each other. The Jesus Youth Worship Night will be held in the St Ignatius Church. It commences at 6.00pm on 26th July and will include a Mass celebrated by Fr Gregory, Adoration and Benediction and confessions. Parishioners are welcome to attend.

Parish Planning Workshop
The Parish held a Planning Workshop on Saturday 7th June to discern Action Plans from the feedback provided through the Parish Survey and the Listening Forum. There were approximately 50 attendees, principally from the Listening Forum group and members of Parish ministries, at the Workshop. A report will be prepared by the Faber Centre facilitators and a summary reported to parishioners.
The PPC would like to thank all parishioners who participated in the Listening Forum and the Parish Survey. Fifty parishioners attended the Forum and 140 submitted a response to the Parish Survey. The data from the Listening Forum and the Parish Survey will be available on the PPC page of the Parish website.
Alpha Program
The first Alpha program conducted in this Parish commenced on Friday 6th June, led by Fr Gregory.

Listening Forum
There were approximately fifty attendees at the Parish Listening Forum held on 1st May. After some initial reticence due to some inexperience with Conversation in the Spirit, participants became more excited by the possibilities that were raised by their colleagues and became totally engaged. The data obtained through the process is currently being reviewed and will be merged with the survey data. The combined data set will then be analyzed and an Action Plan developed at a Workshop on 7th June.
Parish Survey
Parish Survey forms are available in the Church. We realize that not all parishioners could attend the Listening Forum on 1st May. However, as the Parish moves to implement more and more synodal practices we want to provide every parishioner with the opportunity to put forward their priorities to ensure that the Parish remains vibrant and continues to grow. We encourage you to complete the survey document and place it in the baskets at the church door as you leave today. If necessary, you can take the form home, complete it and return it next week by placing it in the collection basket.

Planning for 2025/26
The PPC has been discussing a planning process for our Parish to become more synodal as we implement the strategies from the Final Document for a Synodal Church and the Synod 24 Action Plan.
In 2023, parishioners attended a planning session and completed a parish survey. The results of those processes underpinned the steps taken by the Parish over the last fifteen months. Mary Anne Paddock has produced a short video which shows some of the highlights from those actions. I invite you to take a few minutes to watch the presentation.

Listening Forum
On Thursday May 1, 2025, we will hold a communal listening session in the Parish Hall. We want to hear the views of as many parishioners as possible. We will also be seeking input from people who may have left the Parish and those that have intermittent contact. The listening session will be followed by a workshop of lay leaders to develop an Action Plan.
We recognize that there will be a diversity of opinions regarding priorities. However, it is important that we capture the views of as many people as possible as we walk together on a synodal journey.
