Confirmation completes Baptism, by which in the laying on of hands and the anointing with Chrism Oil, which first happened at Baptism, we are confirmed with the fullness of the Holy Spirit. We are reminded of our participation in the ministry and mission of Jesus, and strengthened to follow Jesus more closely.
Once a year St Ignatius Parish invites children who are already baptised and who are in Year 3 or above to join the Parish Sacramental Preparation Programme.
Sacrament of Confirmation takes place in Term 3 of the school year. Preparation for this sacrament is parish based and family focussed.

Important Information:
The ‘Sacramental Preparation Programme’ in our ’Community of Communities’ will run over two years; commencing with Confirmation (generally Year 3), then followed by First Penance (Reconciliation) and First Holy Communion in next year (generally Year 4).
Our ‘Community of Communities’ is now utilising ‘Flocknote’ for the enrolment of children for our next two-year Sacramental Preparation Programme, commencing in Term 3 each year.
Sacraments will be celebrated in the following order – Confirmation (Term 3) and then in the following year First Penance (Reconciliation) and First Holy Communion.
~ Enrolment fee will be $200 for the full 3 Sacraments programme, to be paid upon enrolment (via credit card).
Enrolments will be invited for children who wish to complete their initiation into the Catholic Faith Community.
Children in Year 3 or above, and who have been Baptised, will be invited enrol.

- ‘Rite of Enrolment’ ceremony during Masses on weekend 15/16 August, at * 6.00 pm Saturday Vigil at St Thomas Aquinas Church, Central Avenue, St Lucia, * 8.30 am Mass at Holy Family Church, Ward Street, Indooroopilly or * 5.00 pm Mass at St Ignatius Church, Kensington Terrace, Toowong. – Please nominate the Mass you will attend via (link tba).
- Class 1 for children & parents: Sunday 23 August at 3.30pm – 4.45pm in Toowong Parish Hall followed by 5.00pm Mass at St Ignatius Church, Toowong.
- Class 2 for children & parents: Sunday 30 August at 3.30pm – 4.45pm in Toowong Parish Hall followed by 5.00pm Mass at St Ignatius Church, Toowong.
- Sacrament of Confirmation ceremony to be held at St Ignatius Church on Thursday 3 September at 5:30pm.
