UPDATE: Roof Works at Holy Spirit Church.
Update on Friday 9am Mass. During closure of Holy Spirit Church Fr Gregory has now announced this Mass will be relocated and held at St Ignatius Church, Kensington Terrace, Toowong instead. Alternatively, there is a 9am Mass on Fridays at Holy Family Church, Indooroopilly.
Holy Spirit Church is now closed while the roof is replaced. The period of closure is subject to weather but is likely to be for 4—6 weeks.
To keep in touch with the development, please make sure you are on the parish email list. Updates and advice on when Church will re-open will be advised via Parish’s newsletter, website and Facebook page.
Parishioners who usually attend the Sunday 8 am Mass at Holy Spirit Church are encouraged to attend one of the other Masses in our ‘Community of Communities’ (Mass times), or a church in neighbouring Parish, ie Sacred Heart, Rosalie or St Stephen’s Cathedral, City (please refer to Archdiocese of Brisbane website).
However, if access to any of these options is too challenging, there is the online option, to view Mass each Sunday via livestream, from 5 pm St Ignatius Church here, or 10am Mass at Cathedral of St Stephen, Brisbane here or ‘Mass on Demand’ from Lavendar Bay in Sydney here. Alternatively, there is ‘Mass for You at Home’ on Channel 10 at 6am each Sunday, & also on Aurora (Foxtel Channel 173) at 10am (or access on their website, from 7am Sundays).
Please note, Children’s Liturgy, usually held during the 8.00 am Mass at Holy Spirit Church during school terms only. However, Children’s Liturgy will not resume until completion of roof replacement and Sunday’s 8.00 am Mass recommences. Watch this space for re-start date for Term 2.
IMPORTANT: Please note, due to ‘Tour de Brisbane‘*, a bicycle race, being held on Sunday 14 April, we have been made aware of road closures in various areas, including Western Freeway. Parishioners who will be attending 7.00 am Mass at St Ignatius Church, Toowong that Sunday are asked to check the details provided by the organisers to check if their usual route to church will be affected by road closures.
